Biography

Makani Andrews represents one of the most promising talents in the new generation of Olympic foiling disciplines. Known for his athleticism and instinctive feel for wind and speed, Andrews has quickly established himself as a rising competitor on the international stage.

His breakthrough came with a bronze medal at the 2023 Youth Sailing World Championships in Lake Garda, confirming his ability to perform against the world’s best young sailors. Andrews further strengthened his international résumé by winning the Junior Pan American Games, securing qualification to represent Team USA at the 2027 Pan American Games in Peru. Since then, Andrews has continued building momentum with podium finishes at major international events while gaining valuable experience competing against the senior fleet.

Within Project Podium, Andrews is focused on refining race consistency and speed development as he continues progressing toward the front of the international fleet.

Watching Noah and Makani grow as athletes is truly exciting. Seeing them learn the values of the sport, pursue their goals, and enjoy the journey along the way is very rewarding as a coach. I’m excited to continue supporting their development and helping them reach their full potential with the goal of winning a gold medal at the Olympic Games.
