Three podium finishes in Italy highlight a partnership connecting youth talent, Olympians, and professional sailors through a shared culture of excellence.

TORBOLE, ITALY — October 12, 2026 — The 2026 Switch Global Championship on Lake Garda delivered more than podium finishes for America One Racing (A1R) and American Magic ROCKWOOL Racing. The accomplishments also showcased a shared commitment to developing the next generation of world-class sailors by uniting talent and expertise from across the sport.

With podium finishes by Pearl Lattanzi (Bronze in Women’s division), Magnus Overbeck (Silver overall), and JP Lattanzi (Gold in 7.8 division), the squad demonstrated the strength of a unique environment combining Olympians, emerging youth sailors, A1R Academy athletes, and American Magic ROCKWOOL Racing team members.

A Partnership Building the Next Generation

The ongoing collaboration between A1R and American Magic ROCKWOOL Racing creates a pathway connecting youth development, Olympic competition and professional sailing. By bringing together athletes and coaches from different backgrounds, the partnership accelerates learning and establishes the standards required to succeed at the highest levels.

“The podium finishes by Pearl and Magnus are a great testament to how the partnership between America One Racing and American Magic ROCKWOOL Racing is developing the future stars of our sport,” said James Lyne, American Magic ROCKWOOL Racing Head Coach. “Together, we are building a strong foundation of skills, culture and excellence that will help young athletes make the transition to the Olympic Games and SailGP. Remember these names. They will headline our sport in the years to come.”

One Squad, One Culture

For A1R Academy Coach and Olympian Yago Lange, the experience demonstrated the importance of a shared performance culture.

“What makes this A1R group special is not only the talent, but also the culture we are building together,” said Yago Lange. “We have athletes coming from different backgrounds, but everyone shares the same commitment to learning. They push each other and improve every day. The experienced sailors bring knowledge, the younger athletes bring energy, and everyone contributes. That’s how you develop the next generation.”

The racing was as impressive as the lineup: Olympic medalists, foiling experts, talent involved with America’s Cup and SailGP teams, and rising stars went head-to-head in fast, intense one-design foiling competition.

Building Beyond the Podium

Beyond the Podium: Turning Knowledge Into Performance

The championship also represented an important step forward in the team’s technical and performance development.

With extensive data collected throughout the event, A1R coaching and performance staff now have a valuable foundation upon which they are able to evaluate the squad’s performance against the international standard in the Switch class.

From equipment optimization and boat handling to racing techniques and performance analysis, the insights gathered will help shape the team’s preparation for the 2027 World Championship.

This approach reflects a philosophy applied across all A1R programs: using international competition not only to measure performance, but to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and continuously raise the standard.

Each event becomes part of a larger process, connecting preparation, competition, analysis and improvement in pursuit of excellence.

The Switch Globals demonstrated what this partnership is building: a strong culture, a clear pathway, and an environment where the next generation can develop alongside the world’s best.
