A1R Builds Momentum in Hyères, Showcasing Progression, Resilience, and a High-Performance Model on the Rise
HYÈRES, France – April 26, 2026 At the 57th Semaine Olympique Française, America One Racing (A1R) athletes demonstrated a clear and accelerating trajectory of performance, reinforcing the strength of the A1R model built on progression, resilience, and continuous refinement.
Across fleets and conditions, the week in Hyères told a consistent story: A1R athletes climb through the standings race by race, solving challenges in real time and executing when it matters most.
In the ILCA 6 fleet, A1R’s Charlotte Rose delivered the defining performance of the week, earning gold with a steady and deliberate path. Opening the regatta just outside the top tier, Rose methodically worked her way into contention, improving start execution, minimizing errors and converting opportunities as the week progressed. By the final series, she had shifted from chasing the leaders to controlling the outcome, ultimately securing victory with composure and precision. Her performance reflects the ability to adapt, refine and peak at the right moment: hallmarks of a world-class competitor.
In the 49er, A1R’s Nevin Snow and Ian MacDiarmid once again showed they belong among the top teams in the world. Building on their silver medal performance in Palma, they opened Hyères with strong, consistent finishes that placed them firmly in the front pack. Midway through the regatta, Snow and MacDiarmid maintained their position among the leaders. Their ability to absorb pressure and recover without losing ground underscores a key component of high-stakes performance: resilience under stress.
For A1R Formula Kite athlete Noah Runciman, Hyères marked another step forward in his evolution toward consistent front-of-fleet performance. Following a breakthrough fourth-place finish in Palma, Runciman entered the week with clear speed and confidence. Throughout the regatta, he demonstrated the ability to compete with the top group, while continuing to refine the consistency required to convert strong individual races into sustained results. Finishing just outside the final rounds, his performance signals a transition from emerging contender to reliable presence at the highest level of competition.
In the Nacra 17, Riley Gibbs and Louisa Nordstrom, who have been sailing together for just three months, demonstrated strong potential with a top 20 finish. The competition provided a valuable opportunity to refine their process, and they are working closely with their coaches ahead of next month’s World Championships.
“Hyères is a great example of what we are building,” said Charlie McKee, A1R Head Coach. “It’s not just about the final result..it’s about how our athletes get there. You see Charlotte building into a win, Nevin and Ian responding immediately to a setback, and Noah continuing to close the gap to the very top. That progression within competition is exactly what we train for. It shows the system is working, and more importantly, that the athletes are buying into a process that will consistently put them in position to succeed.”
Taken together, the results from Palma and Hyères highlight a broader trend for America One Racing: athletes are not only achieving strong finishes, but are also improving real-time during competition. This upward movement reflects the core of the A1R model, which integrates coaching, performance analytics, physical conditioning, recovery and mental resiliency into a unified system designed to support long-term Olympic-level success.
Equally important is the environment that underpins these results. A1R is building a community of athletes who push one another to improve, who respond to setbacks with discipline, and who represent the sport with integrity. The performances in Hyères, whether a gold medal, a recovery from a capsize, or a steady climb toward the finals, demonstrate that success can be defined not by outcomes, but by the process that drives them.
With each regatta, the standard is rising. The results are strengthening. And the trajectory is clear. To learn more about America One Racing, its athletes, and its high-performance model, visit https://americaoneracing.us.
