A1R IQFoil Squad Opens Spring Season with Double Podium in Cádiz
The America One Racing IQFoil squad began the European spring racing season at the IQFoil Games in Cádiz, delivering a double podium finish for Noah and Makani ahead of the upcoming Trofeo Princesa Sofía in Palma.
The result reflects the steady work the squad has been putting in over the winter training blocks, as the athletes and coaches continue building the foundation for the season ahead.
Dominique also showed encouraging progress during the event after making adjustments to her training program over the past months. Cádiz provided a valuable opportunity to apply those changes in a competitive environment and continue building consistency through racing.
During the offseason, the A1R IQFoil squad worked on several technical projects aimed at identifying incremental speed gains. The Cádiz regatta served as the first opportunity to test those developments against a strong international fleet and gather feedback on equipment choices and settings.
As the season progresses, the team will continue refining configurations and testing equipment while gradually increasing the emphasis on racing execution and decision-making. The objective remains consistent with the broader A1R program: a disciplined focus on process, continuous improvement, and steady performance development as the squad builds toward the IQFoil World Championships later in the year. And perhaps, if the good signs continue, a well-earned sushi dinner along the way.
Together, the performances across the IQFoil and Skiff squads reflect the same A1R program-wide approach: disciplined preparation, technical development, and a constant search for incremental gains. Early-season events like these are an important step in the process, providing valuable data and racing experience as the America One Racing squads continue building toward the major championships ahead.
