Noah Runciman Returns Strong with Fourth in Sardinia
America One Racing (A1R) Project Podium athlete Noah Runciman delivered a strong comeback at the 2026 Sardinia Kiteboard Grand Slam, finishing fourth against a competitive Formula Kite fleet that included world champion Riccardo Pianosi and Olympic champion Valentin Bontus.
After a training injury forced him to miss the early September Formula Kite European Championships in Turkey, Noah faced an important lesson on the road to Los Angeles 2028: approach recovery with the same discipline, seriousness and commitment as he would training or racing. Proper recovery time is key to athlete development and competitive return, something he embraced over the course of a few weeks.
In Sardinia, Noah’s work translated into performance. A decisive tactical call in the semifinal put Noah nearly 200 meters ahead at the first mark, helping him advance to the four-rider Grand Final. Throughout the competition, Noah’s improvement from 2025 was evident – including his ability to pivot after a day-2 lag that refocused his drive to climb into the top five. By the end of the week, his fourth-place finish placed him firmly among some of the world’s best competitors as we begin to close out 2026.
The next phase of Noah’s preparation focuses on selecting and fine-tuning his racing equipment for the January 2027 World Championships in Fortaleza, Brazil. But for now, Sardinia marks another encouraging step toward LA2028 for Noah and A1R’s Project Podium, with a clear focus on the work ahead.
