Biography
Ian MacDiarmid has built his career around high-performance skiff sailing, developing a reputation for precision, physicality, and aggressive race execution.
After progressing through the international youth sailing pathway, MacDiarmid transitioned successfully into the Olympic 49er class. Ian is tremendously dedicated to perfecting his craft, which along with his technical mastery and athleticism have produced consistent results on the international circuit.
Now partnered with Nevin Snow, MacDiarmid is part of one of the strongest American campaigns in the 49er fleet. Their breakthrough victory at French Olympic Week in Hyères demonstrated their ability to compete at the front of one of the world’s most competitive Olympic classes.
Ian is one of the most professional and hard-working companions that I have met in life. His effort and devotion to becoming one of the best sailors in the world is significant.
